If so, join us to learn how to empower youth in your community with advocacy and leadership opportunities by creating your own Young Adult Advocates Leadership (Y.A.A.L.) Club!
The Y.A.A.L. Club provides young adults with disabilities a space where they can develop leadership and advocacy skills, while also having fellowship with their peers.
We’ll guide you through the essentials of forming the club, engaging activities for club meetings, strategies for networking and partnering to sustain the club, and more!

About Your Presenter:
Laryssa Hunter
Laryssa Hunter, M.Ed., brings 15 years of experience in independent living and holds a Master of Education degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Currently, she serves as the Program Director for Mounting Horizons Center for Independent Living.
With over 25 years of experience in education, she has worked in two school districts as an educator, department chairperson, and curriculum specialist.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Hunter has developed numerous programs for individuals with disabilities, focusing on enhancing their independence, leadership, and self-sufficiency. She is a seasoned presenter, program, and curriculum developer, driven by her passion for empowering others.
