Emergencies and disasters can and will affect our clients and ourselves. Creating a way for CILs across the country to provide training to their clients can increase the likelihood of mitigating these effects.

About Your Presenters:

Gary W. Talley
Retired from the Virginia Department for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Education:

  • M.S. Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, emphasis in Deafness
  • M.S.E. Instructional Technology
  • B.S.E. Elementary Education

Currently, he serves as the Chair of the local Community Services Board and serves on Virginia's Statewide Independent Living Council. Mr. Talley also became late-deafened in the Spring of 2003, and received a cochlear implant in September of 2023.
